iDiDx: International Digital In-Development Expo - 03/23/2007

Lafayette, La. is set to host the international Digital in-Development Expo (iDiDx), a digital media showcase dedicated to exploring the intersection of entertainment, arts, culture and technology,  May 7-11.

iDiDx will showcase digital cinema, digital music, video games, animation, simulation and visualization, and robotics - all works in-development (anything without distribution is considered in-development). In addition, there will be pitching opportunities, panel discussions, exhibits and demonstrations. The Expo will attract filmmmakers, technologists and educators from around the world to express their talent and vision. Moreover, the event will provide the opportunity to exchange films and other forms of digital media.

Lafayette is a city of innovation and artistic expression. Truly one of the most lively cities in the world, it is an ideal venue for an international expo. iDiDx will contribute to the cultural fabric of Acadiana while showcasing the spirit and essence of Lafayette's Cajun culture through digital, high-tech media.

During the week, iDiDx will screen a wide array of digital videos highlighting many different voices and influences from around the world. IDiDx will also host a video game tournament inviting both creators and enthusiasts to compete.

The event will facilitate the development of local as well as global infrastructure designed to maximize next-generation entertainment technology. May 7-9, iDiDx will partner with Tech South, a technology and business expo. This partnership will bring the technologies of business and digital media together, exchanging ideas under the same roof.
