The largest market in Acadiana, the Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market, takes place under the live oak canopy in Moncus Park at 2913 Johnston Street, in the center of Lafayette, every Saturday from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. You can find locally grown produce, locally raised beef, poultry, delicious food, handmade goods, and live music.
The Hub City Farmers Market is located in the Oil Center at 461 Heymann Boulevard, on the corner of South College and Pinhook near Champagne's Grocery. It's open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Along with supporting local farmers, the Hub City Farmer's Market is community-focused. It offers a Community Table for those with fruit trees or gardens. It provides a place to sell small-batch produce to prevent food waste. It also has a Farm Fresh Kids Club where children can purchase two items from local vendors with tokens.
Fightingville Fresh is a small market located at 315 W Simcoe Street, where access to fresh, local produce can be challenging. Starting with farmer Kevin Ardion, Fightingville Fresh is open Tuesdays from 3 pm to 5 pm and Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. This market connects the neighborhood to its food sources and celebrates the gardeners on the north side of Lafayette. Their current initiative is Grow Your Groceries Cohort, a community of volunteers who will build a community garden in Fightingville.
Located on the banks of the Delcambre Canal at 605 S Railroad Street, the Delcambre Seafood Market seafood market is the first Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. It features seasonal seafood and fish caught in the water the market is on. You can expect to find crabs, shrimp, oysters, or whatever is in season. The Delcambre Seafood market also features live music, food, and kids activities.
Depending on the growing season, this intimate market offers handmade goodies, jellies, baked goods, and fresh produce. Located in downtown New Iberia at 102 W Main Street, the Teche Area Farmers' Market is open on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Tuesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
