I wanted to send a major five-star review for Danielle Tassin and the Lafayette Convention and Visitors Commission. My family is from Abbeville, and I always try to bring folks to the Acadiana region to show off the wonderful elements of Cajun and Creole culture.
I work for a New Orleans-based non-profit, the Alliance for Affordable Energy, and will host a 40-person electric grid convening in Lafayette. Danielle was incredibly helpful in guiding me through selecting the perfect venue and lodging for our event. Truthfully, I was not expecting to get so much personalized attention from the Convention and Visitors Commission. Danielle was very detail-oriented, quick to respond, and was always personable and beyond helpful. She is an excellent ambassador and representative of the wonderful people that make up Cajun & Creole Country.
Bon courage et merci beaucoup!

I am a state employee and Vice President of the Louisiana Archaeology Society. Before my current affiliations, I worked as a private contractor conducting work throughout Louisiana. Securing lodging is an aspect of my current and past employment. I have booked rooms for large crews and booked space for events at hundreds of hotels throughout the state. I’ve had bad and good experiences, but my experience working with Danielle and her colleagues was the best experience of them all. Danielle was able to handle the challenging aspects of organizing my event. She was able to cater to my needs and found the best pricing for my event. I highly recommend working with Lafayette Travel for lodging and event needs. Ask for Danielle because she is the best.

I wanted to take a moment to thank you so much for all your help with organizing the Louisiana Urological Society!
You went above and beyond what the average CVB or Visit Centers usually do. I wouldn’t have found this amazing space without you thinking outside the box. You not only read my RFP but investigated and listened to me on exactly what our group needs were.
Today, I was starting to panic that I didn’t have any information about catering groups, and as I was about to call you, I saw the email, and of course, you had already sent me those. I have lists of catering companies from you and your notes regarding each. I also have my pick of places for the Crawfish Boil!
The bottom line is that people like you help make me successful and look good! You are a joy to work with, and I appreciate you so much!
Thank you again for all your hard work and assistance.

My name is John Violette, and I live in Houston, TX. I belong to a website and forum called AmazingRibs.com. For the last few years, I've put together a 4-day event called Meatups, which is done every 6 months. The one we had recently in Lafayette was our first one held outside Texas. I used the Visitors Center there to help me find accommodations, restaurants, and attractions for our visit. I knew I was in good hands from my first phone call and then emails. Danielle was accommodating and enthusiastic about helping me. Even though I knew y'all usually work with much larger groups than our 20-person Meatup, Danielle treated me like I was her only customer!
I was surprised at her quick response to my emails, usually within 10-15 minutes! Her recommendations for hotels that fit our criteria were spot on. We wound up staying at the Homewood Suites; everyone attending loved the place! We also ate at a few of her recommended restaurants, Prejean's and Poorboy's Riverside Inn….the food was great! I took our group to another one of her recommendations, TABASCO Factory Tour on Avery Island. Afterward, we did a driving tour through Jungle Gardens….absolutely beautiful!
Those two places were a big hit with our group. We had lunch at the Cafe 1868 at TABASCO, not expecting too much….wow, the food was surprisingly good! I had chicken and sausage gumbo and a shrimp po'boy. No complaints from the others either. The airboat swamp tour we did was probably the highlight of our visit. Everyone there thoroughly enjoyed it!
Another little thing: Danielle was friendly enough to supply our group with "ditty bags" with brochures from your Visitor's Center, a nice little touch that was much appreciated. Even though we were a small group compared to your usual large conventions, we weren't treated that way. The icing on the cake was when she stopped by our hotel to meet us. I was given a beautiful cookbook, "Something To Talk About." Wow, I was not expecting that! Thanks again, Danielle. Anyway, I wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay in Lafayette, and a lot of the credit goes to Danielle! It was a pleasure working with her, and we'll be back next year!

I am so appreciative of the support that I received from LCVC and Danielle Tassin specifically. With her help, I was able to secure Lafayette as the host city for our NCDA regional conference, bringing in over 60 attendees from four neighboring states. Danielle graciously walked me through the entire RFP process and compiled a professional-looking submission, filled with local Lafayette flavor! Our city is so lucky to have such a true gem promoting her!
